Capital Gains
.jpg)
Capital Gains is a cover
band* in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is associated with the E. J. Ourso College of Business of Louisiana State University, though not in any official capacity. Capital Gains play a variety of cover songs spanning several eras and has a somewhat unique sound and an ability to replicate the music of a number of famous bands. This partially comes from the fact that Capital Gains has not just one female singer but two. And while having females usually means that the men have to wait from time to time, the vocals cover a wide range enabling some pretty good harmonies. In spite of the name, Capital Gains is non-profit and plays primarily at business school functions but is available for private parties and other events in the Baton Rouge area. Capital Gains takes its music seriously but should not be mistaken for professionals. At least not yet.
The members of Capital Gains are Micah Blouin, Don Chance, Judith Anne Garretson Folse, Julie Guidry, and Rudy Hirschheim. Bios on each follow at the bottom of this page or can be reached from the links in the previous sentence. At present, Micah is on "sabbatical" and is replaced by Sam Roubique, MBA alumnus.
You can contact Capital Gains at the following email address: info@capitalgainsmusic.com.
*While it says "cover band," Capital Gains does have some original songs.

Rudy plays an Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling bass or a Fender Precision Jazz Bass typically through either his Warwick Cab 60 amp or his Traynor DynaBass 100 amp from among the rather large collection of equipment he owns.
